Program Overview

The Doctor of Theology (Th.D.) in Systematic Theology helps Christian leaders organize the doctrines of the faith into a coherent, faithful, and teachable whole. While theology studies the knowledge of God broadly, systematic theology asks how the major doctrines of Christianity relate to one another: God, creation, humanity, sin, Christ, Spirit, salvation, church, sacraments, Scripture, and final hope. This program is built for students who want to teach doctrine, write theological materials, guide church leaders, evaluate contemporary ideas, and strengthen the intellectual foundations of Christian ministry. Students learn to reason carefully from Scripture, engage historical theological traditions, compare doctrinal systems, and articulate Christian belief in a way that is both academically responsible and spiritually nourishing. Graduates are prepared for theological teaching, doctrinal leadership, curriculum development, writing, pastoral training, and advanced service in church or academic settings. The program is especially valuable for leaders who need to help believers understand not only what Christians believe, but why those beliefs fit together.
