Program Overview

The Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching is for pastors and teachers who believe the church is strengthened when Scripture is opened faithfully, clearly, and with pastoral power. Expository preaching requires more than public speaking. It demands biblical interpretation, theological judgment, spiritual authority, rhetorical clarity, pastoral sensitivity, and dependence on the Holy Spirit. Students study the movement from text to sermon: exegesis, biblical theology, homiletical structure, doctrine, illustration, application, delivery, and the formation of a preaching ministry over time. The program is designed for working preachers who want to sharpen their craft, deepen their biblical handling, and train others in faithful proclamation. Graduates are prepared to serve as preaching pastors, teaching pastors, homiletics instructors, sermon coaches, and ministry leaders who renew biblical proclamation in churches and training settings. The doctoral project focuses on a real preaching challenge, such as sermon formation, biblical literacy, preaching through a genre, training lay preachers, or strengthening a congregation's engagement with Scripture.
